Abstract: It is shown that the neuter gender inhertited from Old Indic was not completely lost in Romani. It is still presereved in the nom.pl. ending á of the sinchronically masculine nouns, whereas the originally masculine nouns form their nom.pl. with the previously unexplained zero-ending (in the Calderash dialect).
